This study aims to examine the memory presented in the Indonesian Calling Film and its correlation with Indonesian historiography. The main problem in this research is why the film Indonesia Calling was produced. The research used historical methods which included heuristics, interpretation verification, and historiography. The results showed that the film Indonesia Calling was made by Joris Ivens as a form of resistance to Dutch film propaganda. The film features labor strikes from various countries in Australia’s Sydney Harbor. The strike was a form of protest against the Dutch and Allied aggression in Indonesian territory. Through the anti-colonial narrative, the film Indonesia Calling became one of the earliest anti-colonial films.
